Life Pro 2026 Interim Release - Early Filers

The Life Pro 2026 Interim Version A and LICAT‑LIMAT‑ESCAP Pro (2025 LICAT/ESCAP Guideline)Version Z1 release is now available on the secure SETpro website.

This release includes updated Pro packages, enhancements to Life Version A aimed at improving performance and user experience, and regulatory updates for LICAT‑LIMAT‑ESCAP (2025Guideline) Version Z1, reflecting capital factor changes announced in July2025. The release also includes reminders of previously published packages that have been posted to SETpro over the past month.

• F7 Pro 2026 Version A (released in March 2026)
• ‍StatsCan BP 27/28 Pro 2025 Version A (released in March 2026)This package can be found under the 2025 Annual Releases.  There were no changes made to the StatsCan BP 27/28 returns in 2025.

Key highlights:

• ‍Life Pro 2026 Interim Version A reporting content remains unchanged from Version Z, with performance improvements implemented behind the scenes.‍
• LICAT LIMAT ESCAP Pro Pro 2026 Interim Version Z1 (2025 LICAT/ESCAP guideline) includes a new schedule introduced to three annual pages of the LICAT and ESCAP annual return to support the changes to capital requirements for unrated investments announced in July 2025.
• The KMR OL Pro 2026 package will be released shortly and posted in the 2026 Interim folder.
• A new IC2 Pro climate risk reporting tool is coming soon, alongside preparations for IFRS 18 and the SOC 2 Type 2 audit.

What’s changed?

Life Pro 2026 Interim Version A

There are no regulatory changes to the reporting requirements or validations for LF1, LF2, LF3, and LFProv in 2026.

However, this release includes internal updates to:

• Improve performance; and
• Enhance the overall user experience, particularly for early filers

LICAT-LIMAT-ESCAP Pro 2026 Interim Version Z1

For filers who use annual pages to support quarterly filing requirements, the LCA and ESCAP Annual Supplement updates have been incorporated into the Version A pages and validations. While these changes have been tested using data, sample data files have not yet been tested with OSFI.

New Supporting Schedule for Unrated Domestic and Infrastructure Investments

• ‍Pages 30.200‍

This enhancement allows filers to:

• Distinguish between unrated debt and equity investments subject to original factors, and‍
• Domestic infrastructure investments eligible for the reduced factors announced in July 2025.

The schedule enables filers to input both asset types, calculate capital requirements separately, and feed the combined total into the main schedule—making capital calculations clearer, more transparent, and easier to manage.

StatsCan F7 Pro 2026 Interim Version A

The regulators have made no changes to the reporting requirements in 2026. This package has been updated to meet these requirements.

Performance & User Experience Improvements

To further enhance the user experience across Life Pro, we’ve made several behind the scenes improvements. While subtle, these updates will reduce user issues:

• Cut & paste controls – Cut & paste functionality in Excel has been disabled to prevent broken references. (Copy & paste functionality is still fully supported).‍
• Workbook protection – Filers can protect their workbooks while retaining access to all Custom Menu features.

Coming Soon

KMR OL Pro 2026

There are no regulatory changes to the reporting requirements or validations for the KMR OL return in 2026.

IC2 Pro Version A

A new IC2 Pro package will soon be available to support Climate-Related Risk reporting requirements.

Developed in alignment with OSFI and AMF business specifications and instructions, this package will include:

• Built in validations aligned with specifications and matrices
• Automated creation of the required CSV output
• Consolidated filing instructions in one place

This tool is designed to reduce time spent interpreting requirements, allowing filers to focus on understanding and preparing the underlying data.

What’s on the horizon?

IFRS 18 – 2027 Filings

SETpro is actively reviewing, analyzing, and testing IFRS 18-driven changes in preparation for FY2028 filings. Data testing with OSFI will begin shortly. Please reach out to Sydney Richardson if you have any questions related to these changes.

SOC 2 Type 2 Audit

Our SOC 2 Type 2 audit will commence in April 2026, reinforcing our commitment to security and data confidentiality.
